Indian ace Pankaj Advani (right) beat defending champion Mark Russel to win the World Professional Billiards Championship 2009. Mr. Advani is the second Indian to win the title in its 139 years of history. Geet Sethi was the first Indian to win the title in 1992.

Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (right) has topped the list of world’s 10 top earning cricketers compiled by Forbes. Raking in U.S.$10 million, Mr. Dhoni is at the top of the chart followed by Sachin Tendulkar at the second spot with earnings worth U.S.$8 million in the list of ‘The World’s Top-Earning Cricketers’.

While Harbhajan Singh (U.S.$5.5 mn) and Rahul Dravid (U.S.$5 mn) are at the third and fourth spot, respectively, Andrew Flintoff with earnings of U.S.$4 mn occupies the fifth place. India’s Sourav Ganguly and Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting share the sixth place, with earnings of U.S.$3.5 mn each.

Australia’s Brett Lee and English cricketer Kevin Pietersen are both eighth placed (U.S.$ 3mn each) and Australian Michael Clarke, with U.S.$2.5 mn is ranked tenth. Pay-check figures include club and national team salaries and commercial endorsement income over the last 12 months.
